Age 55 - Occupation: Shasta County Supervisor
Education and Qualifications: Serving full time as Supervisor, District 5. Les also serves on essential Boards to support and protect the interests of District 5 residents; Regional Council of Rural Counties, Regional Transportation Planning Agency, Local Agency Formation Commission, Northern Rural Training Employment Consortium, Redding Area Water Council, Shasta County Fire Safe Council, Planning and Service Area 2 Area Agency on Aging, Shasta County Resource Advisory Council, and the Airport Land Use Commission.
Les has also served as an Anderson City Councilman, elected four times, twice selected as Andersonís Mayor, Anderson Planning Commissioner, Anderson Fire Protection District Board Member, Anderson Chamber President, volunteer Counselor at the Shasta County Jail and as a volunteer for numerous community non-profits.
Les currently serves as Chair of the Mercy Medical Center Advisory Board.
Les serves, on a voluntary basis, as Senior Pastor & Elder at Anderson Community Church, Advisor to The Awakening Youth Ministries & Camp Reflection for Youth, Board Member for Shasta Christian Academy, Board Member for Pray Northstate and Set Free Services Advisory Board Member.
Les is a member of the Redding Chamber of Commerce, Anderson Chamber of Commerce, Anderson Library, Anderson Historical Society and Museum, Cottonwood Community Library, Shingletown Volunteer Fire Department, Shingletown Historical Society, Friend of the Shingletown Library, Shasta County Citizens Against Racism, Shasta County Historic Watchdogs and Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
Les participated in the Leadership Redding program, Pointman Leadership Institute and California State Association of Counties Leadership Certification Program.
A life-long resident of Shasta County, Les and his wife Susie, married 36 years, have three grown children, seven grandchildren. The Baughs live in Andersonís historic Bedford House, circa 1872 Ė a home they have lovingly restored.
